Drum roll please….bdum dum dum

Welcome to the inaugural post of RunnerGirl in the City! Aka my first date with this blog. Firsts of anything (dates, taste of foods, jobs, introductions, kisses…you get the picture) tend to be typically awwwkward. So I have no doubt my “first date” with this blog may also be awkward. Please don’t let that keep you from coming back though. I promise it will get better…

That said, I would like to introduce you to this place. My hope for this blog is to keep me motivated on my running journey moving forward – and to essentially keep me accountable for my daily workouts. SO pretty much I can’t be lazy or slack in any way shape or form. Yikes, no pressure at all.

I also hope this blog motivates you – whether it be to take up running, or any other type of exercise. At the end of the day, if I can keep myself motivated and at least one of you my job is done.

I do have one RULE for this site though – if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. I don’t know where that saying came from, so I can’t legitimately give anyone credit, but I’m sure my mother has said it a gagillion times in her life (teacher, 4 kids – she’s had a lot of opportunities), so I’ll just give her the credit.

Oh, and I’m always ready for a good photo opp, so since I’m seriously slacking on sharing pics on FB – this is the perrrrfect place to share! I mean why on earth would I share pics of myself on FB with my 300 some odd “friends” when I can share them with the zillions of people that will visit this blog (oh ya, that’s my goal – have a zillion people visit this blog. Totally realistic).

BTW – extra points if you noticed I used the word ‘share’ 12 hundred times in that last paragraph.

Wooooo! Here we go – enjoy!
